anyone look outside on friday? along with the unique date came an unreal sunset. rain and heavy clouds dominated the day, until just before sunset where the black clouds gave a window for the sun. this called for something not even washingtonians have seen.

coffee grind

still grinding. heres proof :p

by now, most of you have probably heard the buzz around town about katsu burger in georgetown. well the buzz is much deserved. they’ve been open for a little over a month now and i have already been there a couple times.

this particular time i had the samurai select burger – beef patty, bacon, pineapples, tonkatsu sauce, kristen kreuk’s saliva, and everything else delicious that you could imagine.

you’ll also have a selection of fries. i’m addicted to the nori fries… which are packaged wittingly in chinese/japanese to-go boxes.

busy month (continued)

busy month

updates get further and further apart… again. and again, it’s for good reason. obviously it doesn’t look like it, but i’ve been behind the computer every free second i can get to edit photos from projects i’ve been blessed to do. mix that with moving to a new place and also coordinating with upcoming events… and it’s blindingly obvious i’m only one person. the next few days i’ll just post up random photos to prove i’m busy :p

mo wet

i’m going to skip out on blogging for day 4 because we headed back to north shore, but this time we bummed on sunset beach and tried to grub at romy’s prawns & shrimp. i didn’t take pictures at sunset beach because i was busy battling waves, and romy’s was a 30 minute wait that i didn’t feel like waiting for.

so here’s day 5… our last full day. by now you can probably see that we’ve avoided tourist events for the most part and have mostly been beach hopping. theres a couple reasons for this: one, most of us have been here 5+ times. two, tourist activities like sky diving, parasailing, snorkeling, shark diving, and going to the strip clubs aren’t capri-friendly. this trip was more on the relaxing side, and day 5 emphasized on this as we stayed put on waikiki.

did i mention it was me and amanda’s anniversary? well i just did. so the guys bought me and amanda a bottle of moet to start off our night. they also reasoned that buying a bottle of moet would make the girls “mo wet.” amanda quickly pointed out that it was all dudes in their room.

cheers. and i swear again that capri is just drinking apple juice.

of course there’s eating involved in this post. #teamhawaii2011 strolled over to roy’s for dinner.

the dining is so fine that even the kids menu is ballin’. i asked capri if she would like the tender braised beef short ribs or the hibachi grilled salmon. she proceeded to ignore me while attempting to pull out the table cloth.

amanda and i shared the filet mignon with egg on top and jumbo shrimp. it looks better than it actually was. i was pretty disappointed in the food, but the customer service at roy’s was unforgettable and made the night special anyways. mahalo!

hawaii day 3

although waimea is my personal favorite beach, the surf break makes for some heavy waves that aren’t kid friendly. with my little girl in mind, we headed out to lanikai beach, which is one of hawaii’s nicest swimming beaches. pair that with soft sand and a non-crowded beach due to it being hidden behind a neighborhood, and i guess it’s only fitting that lanikae would mean “heavenly sea.”

don’t worry guys, i know you only read in hopes of seeing some ass. i got you.

that was supposed to be funny, but now that i look back, i’m a gay dad for doing that. so here’s this picture of capri playing with her god dad, lerrick.

got our energy back with some zippy’s. zip pack for me (spam, chicken, beef, fish, and rice).

zippy’s famous chili for amanda.

D.U.awaii.

i’d have more to post about our first day/night, but didn’t think it’d be smart to snap photos of us getting booted out of the hotel, and then our mexican driver almost getting a d.u.i. let’s just say we started off day 1 with a bang.

we did do one normal thing and ate at side street inn – home of the most delicious kalbi ribs in the history of food. however, i ate them too fast to snap a photo.

day 2 calmed us down a bit as we headed to north shore. i was especially happy since waimea beach is my favorite place on earth.

we, of course, had to refuel and mark our territory at giovanni’s.

hi

we’ve touched down in hawaii.

got booted out of our original hotel a whopping 3 hours after checking in thanks to edWARDUP an unnamed person bringing “contraband” for waikiki to smell. but it was a blessing in disguise as we upgraded from the roach motel to cozy into the sheraton.
