whistle away boys
homegirl B, aka EyeASage, aka Rocky Rivera droppin her new video soon.
today. be there
theres two things i love in life that have never ever let me down. basketball… and dancing. i still play basketball on a regular basis. dancing… not so much. tonight, however, i was motivated to get my dancing shoes back on for whatever reason. and it reminded me to take a look back at some old writing i did nearly 5 years ago. titled One Four Three… just wanted to share it with you guys.
even though we havent rocked out like we used to…i remember it and can feel it…like it was 10 minutes ago. but i met you about 10 years ago. i just turned 12 at the time, and you were way older than me…but that didn’t stop me. it was night time at the kitsap fair…yep, right between the ticket line for the “zipper” ride and the cotton candy stand. my homeboy Alfredo aka Free introduced me to you. i thank ‘Fredo to this day for bringing me to you..and you to me.
from that day on we rocked it non-stop for the next 2-3 years of my life along with the crew you introduced me to. i was the youngest cat by atleast 5 years out of the boys, but you let me shine. we blazed the west coast n’ even some of my long lost friends in japan seen or heard of us. you were the first i snuck out to seattle with..and probably the reason why i chose seattle as my home. hell, at 12 years old you even made me tell my parents i was “camping” when we snuck out to cali for the show.
thats the past though.. so why do you matter to me now, right? because i’m 22 now..been through a couple girlfriends..and yet i dont mind rockin solo because i know you’re always there for me to fall back on. but i still have that same passion for you like i did back then, but i’m a grown individual on the grind with barely any time for you. but thats also because of you…and i thank you. i look back at the last 10 years of my life and wonder why i have a fierce competitive spirit in me..why i always strive to be better at everything i ever do.. why i dont believe in limits.
yeah you brought all that into me. remember kenny, tony, brysen, and those cats back then? we’d all go back and forth for you..and you made me spend days and nights destroyin my own limits to hope you stayed with me. but it was me who didn’t stay with you.. but hopefully someday soon i’ll show my appreciation for you and we’ll rock again.
the bboy in me.. one four three.
while we’re on the subject, remember to vote for massive monkees tonight on ABDC!
well todayyyy is my actual birthday. sorry, i know i hogged the entire month.
but id like to say thanks to sloan for dropping some of my birthday presents off butt naked
but seriously, thanks guys. you know the way to my heart is through my stomach
i think everyones starting to settle down from the boat party. and wow what a party it was! i dont mean to sound like a broken record, but it was better than i could have ever imagined. and what makes me even happier is the fact that i still hear the buzz around town about it… which means you guys made it as enjoyable as possible. more than worth it to me and i would do it again in a heart beat! but i guess to top off this years party we’ll have to get a soul plane next year.
thank you again times infinity!
thanks for coming
see you next year
i hate doing mass texts/facebooks/emails to say thanks… its a little impersonal for me. i’ll be hitting you guys up soon because each one of you made an impact on the night… not just for me… but for everybody.
but this is a general thank you. a thank you for showing up on time and fighting through traffic and parking. a thank you for helping me set up and tear the food apart. a thank you for killing the guava cake in world record shattering speed. a thank you for not getting me too wasted. a thank you for the most awesomest uncoordinated electric slide dance ever. a thank you for putting up with the motion in the ocean. a thank you for looking pretty as hell. a thank you for the red lipstick. a thank you for the beautiful voices seranading. a thank you for DJ’ing my party and refusing to take my money that you guys more than deserved. a thank you for giving me a ride and looking out for me. a thank you for flying in from out of state to celebrate. a thank you for being the realest people at a party. a thank you for a wonderful night that even the drunkest bastard in the world would remember.
a thank you from the bottom of my heart,
